Toyota Electric forklifts are made in the USA by Toyota Material Handling, USA. Electric forklifts are suitable for indoor environments as they do not have any hydrocarbon emissions (compared to IC forklifts). The battery powered lift trucks are typically meant for indoor usage because of the wheels as well. The wheels are usually made of a hard rubber polyurethane material. This material works very well on smooth warehouse floors because of the low rolling resistance and non marking characteristics of the rubber wheel compound. If you plan on using your lift truck outdoors you will need to purchase an internal combustion model instead. Pay attention to the wheels as well, as pneumatic wheel forklifts have the ability to handle the rough outdoor surfaces and will have higher ground clearances as well.

Electric forklifts usually have their lead forklift batteries strategically placed in a location which helps lower the center of gravity. This is extremely important for lifting heavy loads without having your forklift rollover. Forklift rollover accidents can be very costly. You can risk damaging inventory, along with your pallet rack shelving units. OHSA training and protecting your shelving units with barriers can minimize the chances of damage occurring from forklift accidents.

You can purchase various fork attachments for your Toyota electric forklifts. The type of forklift attachments you will need can very depending on your own individual circumstances. You can purchae fork rotators, clamp attachments (if you need to move boxes which are not on pallets), cherry baskets, etc. Toyota also sells a variety of safety equipment directly, such as back up warning alarms, strobe lights, and machine head lights.  For certain models you can also purchase accessories such as external battery chargers.

Toyota competes with other forklift companies such as Clark, Crown, Linde, Hyster, and Komatsu. You can purchase new and certified used forklifts from authorized Toyota dealerships. If you need to locate a dealership you can visit their website or you can call (800) 226-0009 to locate the closest industrial machine retailer. If you are looking for a used forklift you can also purchase those through non Toyota dealerships as well.

If you are thinking about buying a used forklift truck, it is also a good idea for you to review the PM logs. Check and make sure that all applicable preventative service work (battery replacements, hydraulic system inspections, wheel replacements, fluid changes- oil, transmission, hydraulics) have been done so that you do not have any unexpected immediate service costs. Make sure that you also receive a copy of all applicable forklift manuals as well. You can also purchase an extended warranty or service contract if you do not have the in house staff available to perform pallet truck maintenance. You can purchase your own parts over the Internet if you wish to perform your own work. Certain parts are available in OEM and Aftermarket versions. Keep in mind however that aftermarket parts may not be as reliable, depending on the specific parts you are looking for.
