Save Money without Lifestyle Sacrifices

There are many ways to save money, however most people give advice which requires some sort of sacrifice to be made.  I am not a big fan of making sacrifices therefore I also look for other creative ways to save money.

If you wish to save money, one thing you should consider performing is bulk purchase of household cleaning supplies (i.e. laundry soap, kitchen cleaners, etc).  You can save a lot of money by purchasing through redistributors.  With the exception of super large stores such as Walmart, many suppliers purchase their goods through redistributors.  The only trick is that you need a resale certificate.  This can be fairly easy to obtain, depending on the state you live in.

If you are willing to purchase items in master case packing (i.e. the entire case of soap, toilet tissue, etc) this can save you a lot of money.  By consolidating your purchase over a certain amount (i.e. $1500 or so) you can also have your freight charges waived.   If you are a stay at home mom living in dense communities such as Condominiums this can be a great way to save money and make new friends.  While $1500 may seem like a lot of money, it actually is not that much money if you consolidate your purchases with close neighbors.

By purchasing in bulk quantities you can save around 30%.  The trick is to find out what items have the most markup at your local stores.  For example, toilet tissue is usually marked up fairly high, especially as you purchase in smaller quantities.

By eliminating the middle man and going to the store, you will also save money, time and gas as well.  Keep in mind that in order for you to do this, you will basically need to set yourself up as a “business”.  If you are creative, you may even be able to make a little money on the side as well.  The key to making this project work, is to make sure that everyone is on the same page, and you purchase and use the same brand items.  For certain things such as garbage bags, it may not be as big of an issue (compared to items such as laundry soap).

If you search under the internet for “redistribution” you should be able to find legitimate wholesalers such as Bunzl R3 Redistribution. Keep in mind as well, that legitimate companies will never charge you to participate. If you find people offering to sell you lists of redistributors that is a scam and you should move on. By doing your homework, you can save money without having to give up anytime (except for a little time to co-ordinate purchases).  If you are interested in more money saving tips, visit my other hub.
