Prime Mover pallet jacks were made all the way until 2006.  Prime Mover (the brand name) was actually first purchased by BT, at which point it became known as BT-Prime Mover.  The company than moved forward and completed its purchase of Raymond.  In the year 2000, Toyota of Japan ended up buying up the company BT-Prime mover.  In 2006, the decision was made to no longer market the brand name Prime Mover.  This was a very well known company which was originally founded in 1950 right in Iowa.  There are still parts available for prime mover pallet jacks, however they are not producing any more machines.  Should you need parts such as electric forklift batteries you can always purchase those online from an aftermarket battery maker. 

The factor was then repurposed to change over.  Instead of producing lift trucks under the Prime Mover name the production facility was repurposed to produce forklifts and pallet jack trucks under the Raymond and Toyota brands (i.e. the factory was strategically used to increase capacity for the larger, well known forklift/material handling brands).  This was probably a smart strategic decision made since they could re-allocate the branding dollars in more efficient ways by not having to worry about the BT-Prime Mover brand name.  The Muscatine Iowa plant managed to stay open which was a positive fact for Iowa.

If you are looking for purchase material handling equipment now, you can look at other several popular brands in the marketplace.  Some of the larger well known names in the industry currently include Mitsubishi, Caterpillar, Toyota Material handling USA, Crown, Clark, Yale, Hyster, Daewoo, Hyundai, and Komatsu.
