When you look on the Internet you will notice that there are many different brands of OEM and aftermarket, used and refurbished forklift battery trucks. Aftermarket batteries will usually cause little less money compared to the OEM program. Another way to save money on your Hyster electric pallet jack truck batteries is by purchasing used or refurbished batteries as well. There are many different types of batteries available in your costs will vary depending on the capacity and the voltage of your forklift truck.

Before you begin to look for your battery you will first need to know what the model number is for your Hyster forklift truck. Another tip to extending the life of your batteries is to make sure that you never overcharged them as that will waste a precious charging cycle on your batteries. Whatever you are working or on forklift batteries keep in mind that the electrolyte acid is very corrosive. You should always make sure you are wearing protective equipment whenever you are near forklift batteries. Over time you may also notice that the corrosive material may start leaving stains on top of the forklift battery post. You can clean the top of the electrical battery post very easily with a little bit of baking soda.  Hydrogen is produced whenever batteries are charged therefor you should make sure that the charging area is adequately ventilated.

Keep in mind that it will normally take about 16 hours to fully charge your batteries including the eight hours which is required for them to fully cooled down after charging.
