Proper training is extremely important for anyone using your Clark electric pallet truck. Keep in mind that each truck is slightly different when it comes to operational controls, blind spots, steering wheel sensitivity, etc. Electric pallet jacks operate on many different types of surfaces, such as rocky uneven ground or smooth floors. Some vehicles are also used to lift personnel, while others are even used to transport extremely hazardous materials.

Clark electric motor rider trucks are class I vehicles as defined by OSHA regulations. These vehicles in various configurations such as: counterbalanced rider type, stand up, 3 wheel electric trucks, sit down, etc. it is also a good idea to provide refresher training courses is a good idea is the operator has been involved in an accident, a near miss, has been observed operating the forklift in an unsafe manner, or if they have been assigned to a different Clark machine (i.e. reach truck, forklift, electric pallet truck).

During your refresher safety training course, it is very important to address issues such as pedestrian crossing zones, intersections, carrying unauthorized passengers, and other potential safety hazards. The format you choose to provide your forklift operator training might vary depending your preference. You can use video, PowerPoint, lectures, along with practical hands-on training as well.

Some of the basic topics which you should cover during the Clark electric truck training include understanding the differences and similarities between fork lift trucks and automobiles, steering and maneuvering, vehicle capacity, vehicle stability, inspection and maintenance. If you are using electric powered forklift trucks, it is also important to review safe charging practices.

By making sure that your employees are adequately trained you can dramatically reduce the risks of having accidents occur in the warehouse. Accidents can not only cause damage to materials, you are also risking the lives of your warehouse staff members.
