Clark Electric Pallet Trucks are made by the Clark Material Handling Company.  Clark makes a full range of Internal Combustion, Electric, Narrow Aisle, Walkie Stackers, and Walkie Pallet trucks.  You can recognize Clark products by their signature green color paint scheme.

Clark makes Electric riders in the ECX series which are powered by either 36 or 48 volt batteries. Depending on the model you choose, the maximum lift capacity is 6500 lbs. These forklift trucks have a maximum speed of about 8-9 miles per hour, when they are not loaded. These trucks are counterbalanced with their batteries. The purpose of counterbalancing is to lower the center of gravity on the truck. Lowering the center of gravity allows you to lift larger loads, will minimizing the risk of having the forklift truck rollover.

If you want to buy a forklift truck, you may want to also consider purchasing a maintenance agreement as well. This is important if you do not have any plans of performing your own in house maintenance on your forklifts. In order to find parts, you will need the truck manual model and serial number for your unit. You can find the serial number for your Clark forklift by looking inside of the operator cabin. This number is usually stamped on a plate, and also in the cowl area. If you need a manual for an older forklift truck, you can contact Clark directly by emailing them. This information can be provided through a photocopy or pdf document for your specific forklift. If you need training for your pallet jack, Clark also offers OSHA approved operating manuals for your particular model.

Clark has 173 dealers in the United States. You can call Clark MHC directly at 866-252-5275 if you need information regarding dealerships and parts for your forklift. If you don’t live near a dealership, you can order Clark pallet trucks and parts right over the Internet.

It is extremely important that OSHA regulations are followed by your forklift operators. Failure to use cause in your warehouse can cause damage to inventory, machines, and potential physical injury as well. Accidents can be caused by accidents where fork lift drivers accidentally bump into pallet shelving units, or accidentally rollover forklift trucks. Clark MHC also offers various training options to ensure safe operation of your material handling equipment. Clark forklift training and safety tips:

  • Always be sure that you are forklift battery charging station is located in a non-smoking area. Smoking can be very dangerous, because of the hydrogen gas created during the battery charging process. Make sure that all designated forklift charging areas are inadequately ventilated areas with plenty of fresh air.
  • Make sure your forklift truck drivers are trained on how to safely start your forklift vehicle. The first step in starting your vehicle is to make sure that you are safely buckled in. Always make sure that you keep your foot on the brake pedal, before you turn on the ignition key.
  • Lifting large heavy loads can be very dangerous. It is very important that you instruct your forklift operators to use a safety spotter. The safety spotter is responsible for making sure that a clear pathway is created. This person should also be on the lookout for overhead obstructions such as piping or other materials.
  • Do not lift palletized loads if they happen to be leaning to one side or the other. Make sure that you ask another helper to stabilize the load. This will reduce your chances of having your forklift load accidentally fall over.
  • Make sure that you are always using the right type of forklift truck attachment before you attempt to move your load. Never use a forklift truck to move boxes unless you have a forklift clamp. This is very important because you do not want to risk accidentally piercing the outside of the box. Forklift clamps can be purchased from various dealers over the Internet, if you do not already own one.
